Running for a Cause!!! Please Help out a Fellow Runner!!

This is special post because I am doing it to honor a friend from High School. Erin Martineau Raitt currently lives in the Atlanta Area and is training for the Augusta Ironman 70.3 Triathlon, but there is a catch, she is training with her brother Scott in honor of their father who passed away in February 2009 at the age of 57.
This is Erin and Scott just being silly siblings!

I can't imagine the physical challenge of training for this event ( as all of you know I whine about getting up in the morning for a 30 minute run!!) but just imagine the emotional challenge of training so soon after such a loss! My hat goes off to this pair and I am posting to try to help them raise their last $900 for this amazing cause!!! They are a part of Team Fox, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, and are raising money for Parkinson's Reasearch!!  You can see their entire story HERE  and if you feel so inclined, you can donate there too!! The bloggy running community has really been a source of inspiration and motivation for me as I have started my running journey, please join in to help a fellow runner reach her goal and fight for her cause. I know times are tough and we are all pinching our pennies, but every dollar counts ( and they are tax deductible-just sayin- cuz I'm an accountant and all)  and one day we will have our own causes and need support too!!!
Happy Running,

  1. I had no idea that Mr. Martineau was paralyzed after his accident. I was at the hospital while Dani was in labor with Rylee when I ran into Erin in the elevator at the hospital right after the accident had happened. I'll make sure to make a donation - what a great way for Erin and Scott to remember their dad!
