A Big Hot Mess................

That would be me......A BIG HOT MESS........................

The knee is not any better and I have not been able to run since my sorry excuse for an attempt last Tuesday!! That is a full week without running and I must say that I think I am a bit depressed and a lot frustrated!! I have been moping around and feeling blah!!

The other MAJOR issue is that I have had a knot in my right shoulder blade that has been getting worse and worse. It is now radiating into my neck, down to my elbow and has a trigger point in my low back, hip and buttocks! All on the right side,  which is also the side that the knee hurts! I can barely turn my neck.....Needless to say, if you cut me in half right down the middle, my left side would be ready for a dance party and maybe a half marathon and my right side would want to be shot and put out of its misery!!!!

I am going to a massage therapist this afternoon (otherwise known in town as a "witch doctor" because he makes pain miraculously and mysteriously dissapear!) for my shoulder and neck and I am most likely making an appointment with an orthopedic for the knee. And so my non- running saga continues!!!! My half marathon is in a little less than 6 weeks and I am praying for recovery in time to finish training and run the race......fingers crossed and tons of prayers!!!!

I want to say a big congrats to my mentor/coach Bryan on his awesome performance at the MCM this weekend....... He did not hit his BQ goal of 3:15 but he came in at  3:32:01!! Great job Bryan.....You rock!!

BTW.....Tall Mom On The Run is having an awesome giveaway!!
Here are the details , but head her way to enter!!!

Brooks created the Brooks For Her (BFH) collection to help support the fight against breast cancer. For each BFH piece purchased from March through December 2009, Brooks will donate 6.25% of the suggested retail price to three organizations that research and support those affected by breast cancer: The Young Survival Coalition, Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, earmarked for breast cancer research. Your vote, between March 1, and December 31, 2009, determines how much of the total donation each group gets. No purchase necessary to vote. Happy Running,

  1. I am soooo sad for you. I truly hope the Witch Doctor can work some major magic.. You have worked so hard.

Thanks for the Plug pretty lady!

  2. Oh no! I'm so sorry that you are having all this trouble. Get to the doc quick for your knee. At least knowing what is wrong will answer a lot of questions for you. Hoping that it is nothing and that you are back to running soon!

  3. "Oo ee, oo ah ah, ting tang, walla walla bing bang"

Sorry LMAO! Now that song is stuck in my head...

I hope you get to feeling better soon luv!!!

  4. Hmmm. I hope that the massage helps. It totally sucks to have to stop training b/c your body says so. I feel your pain. Been there, hated that. Rest up and you'll be back in action soon.

  5. ohh I had a witch doctor in KC...he was amazing. hope you are on your feet soon

  6. Good luck at the doctors!! I had some serious shin splints last week and rested for a few days so I know how you feel. Some good rest time is tough, but well worth it!!

  7. OMG - I feel SO bad for you! I've been there before and it just makes you want to cry knowing a race is coming up! I'm crossing my fingers about the witch doctor!

  8. Gah!! definitely praying for you Tobi!! Try to keep in good spirits, it will help the strains run their course!! Positive thoughts coming your way!!

  9. Thanks for the comment. I am so sorry to hear about all your pain! And on one side!? that my friend is very strange! Hopefully the local witch doctor can losen up the knot at least.

Isn't it crazy how not running can send you into depression? It is such a downhill spiral! so unfair!

Hang in there! And I am definitely saying prayers for you!

Thanks so much for your comments today!
I love the advice from all my blog friends, you are all much appreciated!!!!
Happy Running and Happy Living!!
