Back to Reality and a Tiny Bit of Running News!

First and foremost, because this IS a running blog......I have a tiny bit of running news....While in NC, I walked almost everyday and got up to 2 miles. I also was able to get up to 3 minutes running. I would run once during each mile for 2-3 minutes....Pretty good and the knee is feeling pretty good. Still some soreness, but I'm getting there....Yay!!!

My pictures and the rest of my vacation details were delayed as the internet connection was soooooo slow in the mountains, It would have taken me all day to post, so here goes!

Hubby and I had the opportunity to jaunt over to our Alma Mater, Duke University, for a day while the boys were in camp. Lucky for us, one of hubby's old friends Chris Collins, who now happens to be the assistant coach for the infamous basketball team ( 2010 National Champs - Yeah baby!!), was there and led us on the grand tour....very cool!! We could not believe how much has changed and all of the great perks and ammenities the school has to offer now.....I think we are getting old... Haha!!!

Blowing Rock was absolutely amazing, Thing 1 & 2 had a fantastic time at their day camp and it was one of the best vacations we have taken in a long time with the kids. They actually listened, used manners and didn't totally embarrass us in public ( I know, pretty amazing for 2 boys!!) . I will leave you with some photos of our week!!!

Me and Thing 1 - Can you believe how tall he is at age 9???

It was a fantastic week....On our 11 hour drive back, hubby and I realized we did not get 1 picture of us together , nor did we get a picture of all 4 of us.....major bummer...I am hoping one of my aunts snapped one of us at some point??? I can't believe it.... Oh well. I guess we will just have to do it again next year!!

Happy Running,

  1. I feel like the lack of a family pic, or couple pic, happens to us all the time! You just get caught up and forget. You sound like you had a great time, though!

  2. I'd love to make it to Blowing Rock one day--there's a running camp there, right? I swear we never get a whole family pic either.

Thanks so much for your comments today!
I love the advice from all my blog friends, you are all much appreciated!!!!
Happy Running and Happy Living!!
