A Double Celebration Day!!!

Sunday was my twelth Anniversary. We actually didn't do anything major but are planning dinner, sans kids this Wednesday at a really neat new place near us called the Red Door.
A little back story...................Hubby and I met at Duke University. We were in the same Psychology class, which was right after Weight Training for me. I always had on my little workout shorts and hubby noticed my legs back then ( so he says....and yes, they were much more shapely than now!). We were told about a semester long project and given about 6-8 topics to choose from. We were supposed to pick our top 3 topics and then we would later be put into groups to do these projects. Hubby, being the sly dog that he is, waited for me to choose my 3 topics, then went up and looked at what I turned in, and made his match mine, he thought this might guarantee that he was in my project group all semester......well, he was right and the rest was history.............................
( excuse the quality of the photos, I took pictures of pictures with my cell phone...remember, no digital photography back in "the old days" haha)

A college formal....we look so young, and my eyebrows were out of control!!

The night he proposed!!

Our wedding party ( the girls)

Cutting the cake!

Love this First Married Kiss Photo!!

My hubby is the most amzing man on Earth ( sure, I'm a bit biased). He is sooooo supportive of everything that I do. He supports my midlife career changes, my need to live in FL ( although we would rather be in NC) near my family while his family is spread out in the Western side of the US. He supports my running, exercising, and my need to have change whenever I get bored....which is always!! He is sensitive, sweet, caring, loving and soooooo helpful.

Our home is a definate partnership, where we share the work equally. Whether it's cleaning, laundry, making lunches, kid's practices, he always offers to help and really tries his best to make my life easier!! I take that for granted often, but deep down I know how lucky I am to have such an amazing, man, lover and father to my children in my life.

He truly is my rock........He makes my world better than it could ever be without him. I hope after 12 years of marraige, and almost 15 years together, he knows how very much he means to me and how very much I love him to pieces!!!  Here's to many more years of happiness and marital bliss together baby!!!

So what's the Double Party for?????

Yep, my friends, today marks the 1 year anniversary of this here blog!! Exactly one year ago, I started this blog with my first post HERE, and so started what I though would be a year of major accomplishments in running. I signed up for my first Half Marathon, my first weekend of back to back runs, and my first 10K......none of which happened. I injured my knee while running in OK on vacation and for 9 1/2 months I was not able to run. I also got shoulder surgery during this time and tried to rehab my knee. I ended up with knee surgery too. Add in 3 months of tax season ( i'm a full time accountant) and there was a lapse of blogging for a while. I became pretty down during this time and felt like I would never come back and be the runner that I wanted to be......
Fast forward to today, It has been 1 year, 2 surgeries, and very little running, but this running blog is still here. I am starting to feel like myself again! I have lost some readers along the way, which is understandable, but I am excited about my future and the future of this blog!! I appreciate all of my bloggy buddies who have stuck with me along the way.

On a very exciting note, my Awesome PT has cleared me for 2 miles now, so this week I will be adding to my 1 mile ( which I have been consitently running between a 9:20-and10:00 pace.....I am very excited, but a bit nervous!!! I will let you know, I may brave the heat on my lunch hour and try to get a bit in today!

I am working on a giveaway for the blogs anniversary! It is a bit hard, when you are not a superstar blogger that comapnies send stuff to, cuz you have to be craetive and spend your own money for giveaways, but I am working on something that will hopefully be good....stay tuned for that!!

Don't go to Happy Runner and enter her SOMNIO GIVEAWAY HERE, cuz I really need these shoes and really want to win, like alot!!!!!!

Happy Running,
